Hole #9 is the start of what many call "Heidelberg's Amen Corner." This is a short par 4 with an environmental hazard along the entire left side of the fairway. The right side slopes severely and driving accuracy is a premium. Many golfers elect to play a medium iron, leaving them with the same club to the green. However, a long drive will leave the risk-taking golfer with a short chip over a deep bunker. The green slopes severely from back to front.
